Shifting service to the left: right for the patient? Patient experience of MSK triage interface clinics
Whelan, Lauren; Donlon, Elizabeth; Kumar, Madhav
The Musculoskeletal (MSK) Triage
pathway allows specially trained Clinical
Specialist Physiotherapists (CSPs) to help
manage the growing waiting lists for
Orthopaedic and Rheumatology Services
in Ireland. Following the Sláintecare
initiative and recent doubling of the
number of funded posts for the National
Clinical Programme, more of these clinics
are now moving to primary care centres
(interface clinics) and away from acute
hospital settings. Patients were invited to
complete a satisfaction questionnaire
after their appointment in Inchicore
Primary Care Centre and interface clinic in
South Circular Road.
