Identifying the Continuing Education and Training Requirements of Registered Nurses, who care for Children with Complex and Integrated Care Needs in the Community
Advisory Group: Supporting Continuing Education and Training of Registered Nurses who care for Children with Complex and Integrated Care Needs in the Community
Children’s healthcare services are continually evolving to support the delivery of quality and safe care to children. Nurses caring for children with complex and integrated care needs in the community require specialist knowledge and skills. As the numbers of these children are increasing, there is also increasing demand for continuing professional development that is relevant to the unique care that these children require. To respond to this demand, the Centre of Children's Nurse Education conducted a national learning needs analysis, which aimed to identify the continuing professional development requirements of nurses who care for children with complex and integrated care needs in the community.
This report is informed by engagement with nursing stakeholders who provide care for these children and their families. It offers valuable insights into the current needs of nurses in this sector and includes recommendations that support their continuous professional development needs.
